Respondents to a June 2011 survey painted a very promising picture for both mobile and tablet devices when asked about future intent to make online purchases via connected devices. Nearly 50 percent of those with a tablet who don’t currently use it to make a purchase saw themselves making purchases online from their device within the next 1-2 years. Of mobile phone owners, 49 percent showed future intent when asked the same question. This number for mobile should increase with the continued growth of smartphone ownership.
