Google Sites lead the online video market overall in Germany with over 37.1 million unique viewers during July 2011, with YouTube accounting for over 99 percent of visitors. German internet specialist, United Internet ranked second with more than 13.3 million unique viewers, growing by nearly 329 percent over the past year, making its network of sites the fastest growing in Germany. On third position ranked Germanyâ€™s TV channel, ProSiebenSat1 which attracted 11.4 million unique viewers during the month.
Local sites FutureTV (8.4 million) and eDarling (4.8 million) have entered in the Top 10 in June and July 2011 respectively. Overall, despite strong competition from international sites such as Facebook (87.5 percent growth) and Viacom Digital (77.4 percent), local German video sites have shown a strong hold over the online video market.
